Fermentation Manager

Description:

Trinity BioSystems is developing biopharmaceutical products based on a novel technology platform for oral protein delivery. The company aims to expand its capacity to i) optimize current drug development candidates, ii) generate additional development candidates, and iii) operate a pilot scale protein production facility to support research and preclinical studies. Currently, we have an opportunity for a Fermentation Manager with extensive industrial experience in microbial fermentation, especially E. coli.

Requirements:

• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, chemical engineering, biotechnology, or related fields with at least 5 - 7 years of experience in E. coli fermentation in biotech/biopharmaceutical environment and related management experience.
  
• Extensive experience in fermentation optimization, media selection, and protein expression in E. coli. Demonstrated technical proficiency in developing and designing fed-batch microbial fermentation.
  
• Experience in mammalian cell culture, transfection, and stable cell line creation/maintenance are considered as a significant plus.
  
• Substantial technical leadership capability. Solid problem solving and trouble shooting skills. Experience in writing SOPs, manufacturing protocols, and validation reports.
  
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced start-up setting. Excellent interpersonal skills with the desire to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment.
